New Smart Bulbs!
Love these new Hue Smart bulbs for my kitchen island light! My son came by with my grandchildren this evening and they had a ball with it! Last night I created a custom scene for my grandson featuring his favorite 3 colors and did the same for my granddaughter! I used their names to name each scene! So when I told Alexa to turn on my grandson’s scene, named after him, and then did the same for my granddaughter, using her name, they thought this was the greatest thing! GiGi is just too cool!! LOL!! They also love rainbows so I had created a custom rainbow scene for them, and they loved that too! I had also created custom holiday scenes, which they also loved: New Years, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July, and Christmas! Alexa was extremely busy this evening as the kids asked her to go from one scene to the next! Last night I also saved a couple of Hue’s standard relaxing scenes for Hubby and me. The kids weren’t too thrilled about those, LOL! After they left I created some more custom scenes! So fun!
The photos don’t capture the colors quite so well; so much better in person!
The light holds 9 bulbs and it was quite bright so we weren’t using it very often. Here are some older photos with the standard clear light bulbs.
We regrettably did not have our electrician install a dimmer switch so it was either all on or all off! We could have changed out the regular light switch with a dimmer switch or just put in half the bulbs, but I finally decided to go with the Hue smart bulbs instead.
I have had Hue smart bulbs for years in a few lamps around my home in Connecticut and here in Nee Hampshire too. They last for years, too! They’re not cheap but well worth it! I also have a few of the Hue smart plugs that I use for my curio light and hutch light. I also have a wagon lamp light and I have a Hue smart plug for that as well!
In the past, I have only utilized the Hue smart bulbs that are standard white, without the color-changing option. But for this light, I knew it would be so fun to have the multicolor Hue smart bulbs instead! So far, I have no regrets! I’m having so much fun with them! And this light will now get used all of the time! We initially intended for this light to be a focal point in our large area room! But, since it was too bright we hardly used it. So these smart bulbs have now made this light fixture what we wanted it to be! And more! Fun!

Here is a custom candlelight scene that I made this evening after the kids left. A video is needed to show the flickering candle effect! They’re going to love this one too!
Another custom scene created with flickering multicolor lighting! I know for sure my grandchildren are going to love this one too! I can’t wait for them to see this one! Another video needed for best capturing this scene:

Hue only allows so many custom scenes; I have used them all up! But Hue has many standard scenes to choose from!
These are standard relaxation and nighttime scenes by Hue.
Nighttime:
Don’t get me wrong; I still really liked this light before going with the Hue smart bulbs. But now I absolutely LOVE this light! This is exactly what it needed! It was intended to be a major centerpiece in this room and now it truly is! Amazing! Mission accomplished! My only complaint is that Hue doesn’t make clear bulbs, which looks so much nicer with the clear bulb covers, especially when the light is turned off. But it’s still so worth the sacrifice! π

I love the flickering effects!!! My favorite!!! That's a lot of Smart Bulbs!!! ~LOL!
