Catching Up: Walk to River

My first walk on our property down to the river since winter began! The snow was still quite deep; up to my hips in some spots! But there were spots where the snow was only ankle deep. The variations are due to drifting snow, sun exposure, or lots of coverage from hemlock trees. It is about a half mile walk from the house to the river. We own 12.55 acres and have about 255 feet of river frontage. That property line extends half way across the river too! Up by the house we have around 450 feet of road frontage. The property width stays at around 450 feet wide a little ways down and then narrows to around 255 feet wide all of the way down to the river.

Could not see the river! Almost completely covered with snow with some water holes here and there! These next 9 photos are the river!

My river furniture is buried in snow! Table with 4 chairs, deck box and 3 beach chairs.

All cleared off but still rather buried in the deep snow!

More river photos!

This is our swimming hole in the river! There is an opening to the water! Could go for a swim! LOL!!

Heading back up the mountain toward the house!
