Catching Up: Fun with Family

Wow! I cannot believe my last blog was over three months ago! So much to catch up on that I will need a few blogs to cover everything! LOL!!

I went back into my photos since my last blog and saved the ones to include in my blog updates! Here goes!

We enjoyed our 5 year old grandson’s first year of ice hockey! He was obsessed with goal tending for a while; infatuated with the goalie equipment! He did quite well too! But most of the season he played defense, at times offense as well. He has come a long way since he first started!

We enjoyed a game at my son’s high school, Proctor Academy! While there, I found that my son was added to the wall of alumni that played college hockey! How cool is that!

To end the hockey season, just this past weekend we went to a Portland Mariner’s game at the Cross Insurance Arena in Maine where my grandson’s hockey team played a scrimmage game prior to the Mariner’s game! They also went out on the ice with the Mariner’s during the National Anthem! So fun!

My 3 year old granddaughter also went ice skating quite a few times this winter and did great! She does loves to skate! Both of my grandchildren also tried skiing for the first time! My grandson did terrific! He quickly learned the rope tow and was skiing independent within an hour! Must be from all of the ice skating! He was able to stop on a dime within a couple of tries! Amazing! My granddaughter? Well, she is only 3 years old so she didn’t get very far. She also kept laughing so hard because she loved it too much, LOL!! Maybe if she wasn’t laughing so much she would have been able to focus more! Next year she will likely be ready to learn!

First time skiing for both!

GiGi (me) also maintained our hill out back all winter for snow tubing! It was a lot of work to shovel excess snow off after every storm! Not bad for 60 years old! I even enjoyed some snow tubing myself! My grandchildren also had a ball!  LOL!!

We and the grandkids also had some fun getting rides back up to the top on the 4-wheeler!

It is just so awesome living on the same road as my son and his family! We are only 1.5 miles away! Love it! 👍❤️💕

  1. Wow! That's amazing that Ian is being honored as a permanent member of the alumni! That's pretty awesome! Now his son is following right in his footsteps too! The sledding looks like so much fun! I am sure you & Jerry are enjoying every moment with the grandbabies!
