Weekend Visit!

I went up to New Hampshire this weekend and took multiple photos! Great progress is being made with the house so it is ready for us to move into early June! In about one month we will be moving in! I just can’t believe it! It’s just too good to be true! Our dream of a log cabin is coming true! Having a mountain view, property on a mountain river and 12.55 acres is also a dream! But the best dream come true is living 1.5 miles up the road from my son, daughter-in-law, grandson and granddaughter! I will believe it on move in day! LOL! Oh, and another thing is that I get to keep my dream job too! While living here in eastern Connecticut, I have worked from home for a company in Rhode Island since August 2016, and I love my job! It was just approved on Thursday morning! Another dream is coming true! I know God has been helping me throughout all of this!

OK, time for photos!

This is my weathervane at my home in Connecticut:

As of yesterday afternoon, it is now behind my home in New Hampshire! I will likely move it later but it still looks great here for now! Love it!

Photos of the exterior house!

Yesterday, I also brought the table, four chairs, two deck boxes filled with seat cushions and lantern fuel, tiki torches, and hammock from my fire pit area here in Connecticut! I also brought three of my wrought iron shepherd’s hooks! I was able to load everything into the back of my pickup truck. I plan to bring it all down to the river to use when we spend time down there!

Here it is when it was out behind my house in Connecticut!

I brought the bench up to the house in New Hampshire last Fall. Here is everything in New Hampshire!

The driveway!

The well!

I also brought the mailbox post to New Hampshire yesterday! We bought it when a plow truck hit our mailbox here in Connecticut. Since it was winter and the ground was frozen we ended up having to take the post we already had and placed it in a large, durable flowerpot that was filled with stone to hold the post and mailbox up. It turned out to be a great permanent solution and never used the new mailbox post. It’s still on new condition so we can use it for our new mailbox when it’s time to install one! Here’s our mailbox post up in New Hampshire now!

I also ordered the mailbox, numbers, and number sign for the post! We have this same mailbox now in Connecticut and we had the same one when we previously lived in New Hampshire! I am so glad they still make these!

Example of what the numbers will look like:

Mounting bracket used to come with this mailbox but now it has to be ordered separately:

I also ordered this for the post itself! It’s reflective too!

I ordered the white sign, example below:

This is the photo the seller sent me for approval before making and shipping it!

The standby generator has been placed on the pad and has been hooked up to the liquid propane (LP)! Within the next week or two the electrician will finish the rest! He already installed the transfer switch! I suspect we are going to be using the generator fairly often! We live on a dirt road and it is very remote there. When there are massive power outages we will likely be one of the last areas to have power restored. Power companies always prioritize repairing lines that will restore the most people possible first.

Here’s the LP tank!

We will also use the LP for our gas dryer, gas stove and gas Rinnai heater in the basement!

Our HVAC system! The inside heating and cooling units will soon be shown! It also dehumidifies the air during the summer months.

Now heading inside the house!

Our basement bath/utility room! The washer and gas dryer aren’t hooked up yet but will be soon! The plumber will likely get these done this week!

The rest of the basement:

Best basement view ever; from the French doors to the large double window!

Heading upstairs to the first floor! The great room!

The kitchen cabinets are awesome! So much storage! We have three bottom corner cabinets with lazy Susans in each one! Love this!

The cabinet doors and drawers are soft close style! Sweet!

I love our kitchen faucet, which was installed a couple of days ago!

The rest of the photos taken of the kitchen!

Hallway area on first floor leading to basement, bathroom, and both bedrooms!

Door to the basement!

Larger of the first floor bedrooms!

The smaller bedroom, which will be my office! It can also still be utilized as a guest room, just as my office here in our Connecticut home! I have a futon couch/bed that will move with me to my new office!

Our first floor bathroom!

Heading up to the second floor where our master bedroom and second floor bathroom are!

Master bedroom!

Master bedroom closet!

Second floor bathroom!

Once the floor is installed, the toilet and vanity will be installed. Here is the vanity!

View from the master bedroom doorway!

Heading back downstairs!

The flooring subcontractor will start installing the floors on May 19th! One week from tomorrow! It will only take a few days to complete! We are getting Cortec Red River Hickory! We already did the floor in the first floor bathroom. The rest of house on the first and second floors will be the Cortec! The flooring contractor will also finish the stairs. Here are examples!

Getting there! So exciting to see the progress!
