Updates!

Tomorrow our new couch and loveseat are being delivered, sometime between 11:45 am to 1:45 pm! I’m so excited! I prepped the area tonight for an easy delivery! It has also been vacuumed well!

I also moved the old reclining loveseat outside on the farmers porch so it would be completely out of the way! I will likely list it on Facebook Marketplace. It’s an old couch that we purchased well over ten years ago when we were living in New Hampshire prior to living in Connecticut for 10 years! It is likely it is around 15 years old but it’s still in good working condition (reclining feature still works great) and still very comfortable! Cosmetically it is in fair condition. The leather is a bit faded on the seats and my two cats (RIP) used one end as a scratching post! I purchased a roll of adhesive leather couch patches and it worked great to conceal the damage! Almost a perfect color match! But it was definitely time to replace both the couch and loveseat.

We are keeping the matching leather reclining couch and using it in the basement for a sitting area. The couch is in the same condition as the loveseat with leather patches over the kitty damage. But it’s still plenty good enough for the basement!

All prepped for today’s delivery!

This is what they will look like!

Leather reclining couch in the basement. There are two recliners, one on each side. The middle section does not recline. It is a very comfortable couch!

I ended up returning the table with four stools as it was bigger than I had imagined. I scheduled a FedEx pick up at my house for for today:

This is what I ordered, which has been shipped! It is perfect! The stools can be stored in the unit, it folds down to a very small piece of furniture and is on wheels to make it easy to move around as needed!

Other updates:

  • Our 5 year old grandson and 2.5 year old granddaughter had their first sleepover at GiGi-Pappy’s new home last weekend! We finally got the downstairs bedrooms cleaned up and organized enough to accommodate a sleepover! My son and his wife were celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary and they enjoyed being kid-free for it!
  • My dogs, Pemi and Ozzy, had their first visit with their new veterinarian! They had their lab work done and all is good! I was pleased with the visit too! They’re all set for another year!
  • I had my first visit with my new primary care physician (PCP) today and all was great, too! I chose the Nurse Practitioner (NP) over the doctors because my daughter-in-law is a NP and because I know NP’s typically have a better bedside manner than most doctors, and actually listen and take the time to answer questions. She was very thorough! And I was so pleased that I have lost just about 30 pounds since my physical in February 2025! Selling a house, packing, moving and unpacking plus doing vigorous work to the house does a body good! She said that about 16 pounds more will put me at a great weight!
  • We are working on refinancing the house from construction loan to conventional mortgage! Next week is our appraisal and then we close after this! The appraisal isn’t anything to be concerned about. We are financing less than half of what the proposed appraisal will be. We will have a lot of equity! We are also completing the process for a home equity line of credit as we like having one in place in case needed for an emergency or for home improvement projects.
  • I sold a couple of items on Facebook Marketplace, including our futon couch, pine desk and an office chair!

I added a few solar lights out front and some deck post top solar lights! So pretty!

I have done so many projects! I can’t recall some of them at the moment! It has been nonstop, but exciting projects!

  1. That's a perfect table and chair set. Reminds me of tiny living, something they'd select to put into a tiny home since it's entirely collapsible and the little chairs can be conveniently tucked away -out of sight. That's definitely more of what you'd be needing. Way to go with everything else. Lots of accomplishments and you're finally in the home-stretch! Good for you!!! Enjoy it!!!
