Latest Updates NH!
The house is coming along nicely! The kitchen cabinets arrived yesterday and will soon be installed within the next couple of weeks! Once installed, the company we purchased the granite countertops from will bring them to the house and install them!
We now have fiberoptic WiFi at the house! When we first started building our home, only standard cable lines were available but our neighbors said that the internet from them was really slow and unreliable. Last month, Fidium finished running new fiberoptic lines on our road and were offering free installation!
They came out on Tuesday to run the line from the main lines, across the street to our telephone pole and then underground through the existing conduit next to the electrical conduit to the house, We made sure that when the power company installed power lines to our house, that they also installed a second conduit system for running internet and phone lines to the house. So the fiber optic line was run They ran the line into the basement and set up the modem there for now. They left extra line so we can run the line from the basement to the smaller of the first floor bedrooms where my home office will be. The outlets in that bedroom aren’t powered up yet so we opted to leave it in the basement where there are powered outlets for now.
I also purchased StarLink, which still needs to be installed. That will be back up for times when the internet might be down such as during storms. The cell data signal is very weak or not available at all at the house. I cannot search the internet on my mobile phone so I know mobile hotspot will likely not be a back up option. Since I work from home, I have to have another source of internet. Where I currently live, if the internet goes down I use mobile hotspot for my internet.
I don’t have photos yet but the glass shower doors have been installed in both of the full bathrooms on the first and second floors! So we can now take showers there if we really wanted too!
The bathroom vanities were also delivered on Tuesday! I’m not sure if they have been moved into the first and/or second floor bathrooms yet. If not, it won’t be long!
We hired a flooring company to install all of the flooring plus the wood on the stairs. This is one of the last things that will be done so the floors do not get damaged.
All of our lighting fixtures have been delivered and can be installed once all of the walls and ceilings are completed. At that time, the electrician will finish installing all outlets, switches and light fixtures.
The kitchen appliances (refrigerator, LP gas stove, range top microwave and dishwasher) have been ordered and paid for but we are holding on delivery until the flooring in the kitchen has been installed.
The washing machine and LP gas dryer have also been ordered and paid for but are on hold waiting for the weight restriction to be lifted on our road. At this time of year, spring and mid season, many roads are under a 6-ton maximum weight restriction. Any trucks that are over 6 tons are not permitted to drive on our road right now. The restriction is usually for a 6-week period.
We still have several more items, such as the bathroom vanity mirrors, towel bars, toilet paper holders, etc. to purchase but there is no hurry.
Last weekend we were up in New Hampshire and obtained some photo updates!
Great progress has been made with the tongue and groove ceilings in the great room! The side over the kitchen area is done!

Wow! Your dream is finally coming true! Just look at it all!!! The woodwork is gorgeous! It's really taking shape! I can't wait to see all that's to come! -We had ZERO showings today (Saturday), none at all booked for tomorrow either and next weekend is a 4 day holiday weekend (Good Friday/Easter) I just wish one of those families would come back to us with a good solid offer! I'm still unsure about the mobile home thing. Still considering a house in town or Pleasanton where Taylor is at. It's such a big decision but I am sure that when the time comes and we're under pressure to make a choice, that part will be easy compared to all this craziness. I am so tired of living in a museum, going through so many cleaning products and constantly cleaning such a big house. I'm so ready to downsize too!!! Keep those blog posts coming please!!! Have a fun weekend!
