Updates from 12/14/2024!

We went for a visit in New Hampshire this weekend and managed to get lots of photo updates! 

Farmers porch roof nearly complete! 






We have a nice little storage area under the farmers porch! Will certainly be handy! 


The deck is all framed in! I wasn’t able to walk on it yet! Too high to risk walking on the framing! 



The log siding is done on the dormer section! 



They finished grading along this side of the house! 


Back to the farmers porch! 


The front door is installed! We now have keys for the house! 





Site work has been done to accommodate the propane tank, which is being delivered tomorrow (Monday)! Once delivered, the plumber will run the gas line to the house and will be able to start up the monitor heater in the basement! We will have heat! The lines will also run to the generator by the plumber, and then the electrician will do his part too! After this, if the power goes out, the generator will provide power! 


Site work done to prepare for drilling the well! The well company needed a flat spot to place the drilling machine. The well will be right on the edge of the woods line, out of the way. The well should be completed by the end of the week! They will dig the trench to run the line to the house when it’s done! Then we will have water at the house! With the monitor heater in the basement, it will keep the house well above freezing to prevent freezing pipes! 



We will eventually have another source of heat, which will also provide air conditioning in the summer months, on the first and second floors with Fujitsu HVAC system. It is powered by electricity but they are very efficient! They are WiFi enabled so we can either adjust the heating and cooling with our phones or with the remote control. We will have smaller units in each of the three bedrooms and one larger unit in the main area (living room and kitchen). So we will be able to adjust each room separately! Zoned heating and cooling! Nice! 


The half bathroom in the basement has been framed in! Because it’s in the basement we have to have the toilet up a little higher to accommodate the drain pipe. Not sure yet if we will have the entire floor built up to the platform that is there right now for the toilet? If so, we would just step up one step to go into the bathroom. We still need to decide. This half bath will also include the washer and dryer and instead of a vanity, we will have a laundry sink. It’s not a fancy bathroom. We will also have two full bathrooms upstairs; one on the first floor and one on the second floor. The basement bathroom is intended for use when we are outside, especially when we might be filthy after going 4-wheeling or doing yard work; or if the kids are playing outside and are all dirty! It will certainly help keep the house cleaner! We can run in and get changed into clean clothes or whatever!

We are completely “wowed” by our plumber! This is awesome! It’s like a plumbing fuse panel! Love this! He did a great job marking everything! If something is leaking and we need to turn off the water supply, we would turn it off here! Nice!

View through the slider! The plastic protector layer interferes with the view for right now. Can’t wait to see the view once the protectant plastic is removed! We didn’t want to remove it yet while construction is in progress.

Our son and his family live about 1.4 miles down the road. About half way there is this gorgeous view that includes Ossipee Lake! I enjoy this view every time we drive by here! The full moon plus sun setting made it even more beautiful! The photos don’t do it justice!

    Nice update! I saw this over the weekend, I just couldn't comment from my phone! Those photos at sunset are amazing!

Catching Up: Wildlife

We have a couple of game cameras down at the bottom of the field. We totally enjoyed the wildlife that these cameras captured!  This cutie has been around since the fall after we cleared the field out back and got the grass growing! We call her Nibbles, as she loves nibbling on the grass!  I can always tell it’s Nibbles when I see the dark spot on her inner right rear leg!  We had so many deer during the winter rut season!  Meet Gaylord Faulker! The coolest buck around! After he shed his large antler at the end of the rut, Hubby found it! So cool! When you find sheds in the woods you don’t know the deer they came from. First time we actually know the deer that it came from! How cool is that.  Here’s his antler! If we could find his short antler, the package would be complete! Latest Photos!

My son and his family went by our house in New Hampshire and we FaceTimed so we could see the house!  We weren’t able to get up to New Hampshire this weekend as we have been busy packing here to prepare for our move. My daughter-in-law also took some photos and a video and sent them to us. Here they are!  The glass doors have been installed in the bathroom shower units! Here’s the upstairs bathroom!  Here’s the downstairs bathroom!  They made a little more progress with the great room ceiling! They have to cut and treat the boards before they hang them. I believe this past week our contractor focused more on board prep. Once dry after treating them, installing them will be pretty quick!  Looks like the ceiling in the larger of the two downstairs bedrooms is done! I think this completes this bedroom as far as hanging tongue and groove pine wallboards! They will eventually add trim at the joints and around the window and will hang the closet and entry doors! ...

Weekend Visit!

I went up to New Hampshire this weekend and took multiple photos! Great progress is being made with the house so it is ready for us to move into early June! In about one month we will be moving in! I just can’t believe it! It’s just too good to be true! Our dream of a log cabin is coming true! Having a mountain view, property on a mountain river and 12.55 acres is also a dream! But the best dream come true is living 1.5 miles up the road from my son, daughter-in-law, grandson and granddaughter! I will believe it on move in day! LOL! Oh, and another thing is that I get to keep my dream job too! While living here in eastern Connecticut, I have worked from home for a company in Rhode Island since August 2016, and I love my job! It was just approved on Thursday morning! Another dream is coming true!
