Thanksgiving Weekend!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend we had! Actually, it was a wonderful Thanksgiving week! The kick off was Thanksgiving dinner at our local grange hall, which was terrific! Hubby had the week off, and I only had to cover at work on Wednesday; I otherwise had the week off too! On Thanksgiving Day, we had my 90 year old Aunt over for a large feast with her! On Friday we headed up to New Hampshire to stay for the weekend with my son and his family! They got about a foot of snow Thanksgiving Day into Friday! My daughter-in-law’s sister and her family also came up to stay for the weekend! It was a bit crowded, especially with five large dogs! My son has two, we have two, and my daughter-in-law has one. On Saturday we had another huge Thanksgiving feast! My daughter-in-law’s parents and her other sister and family came up for the day! Seventeen people on total, plus five dogs! But it was wonderful!
We also met up with our contractor on Friday and brought coffee and donuts for him and his crew! So much has been completed! Our plow guy did a good job plowing the driveway so the crew could park there instead of in the street. They finished up the log siding on the upstairs dormer and made great progress on the deck!
On Friday night, Hubby and I went over to the house and enjoyed the starry sky and silhouette mountain view! We now have electrical outlets available on each floor! Not all of the outlets are done but it’s nice to have access to power on each level now! I plugged in my phone and was able to play Willie’s Roadhouse on Sirius XM! We danced by the windows and opened one up so we could see the starry sky as we danced! It was so romantic! I can’t wait until we move in! It’s such a dream come true! The log house, the 12.55 acres, mountain view and property bordering a mountain river that flows year round! But the BEST part is being 1.4 miles away from our son and his family! I couldn’t ask for anything more!
Here are the latest photos! Deck posts and main frame are now up! The rest of the framing and deck boards are being worked on this week, in addition to the farmers porch deck boards and roof! Yay!!!

Great photos! Amazing progress! The backstop is absolutely necessary and such a great thing to have! We had been meaning to load mounds of soil and dirt along the far back property for the same purpose, but just never got around to doing it. : (
