Journey Back to New Hampshire!

Earlier today, our contractor sent us a couple of photos! Wonder how much further they got today since the photos were sent? Making great progress! Great to see the window framing started! These are the downstairs bedroom windows. So exciting!  He also brought in a porta potty for him and his crew!  This is where they left off last Friday! 

Our son, his wife and her parents, and the kids were at the property yesterday and took some photos and videos for us! Latest update! 

Our security camera stopped working but we finally got it working again and found that seven rows of logs have been completed!  This photo was from two days ago: 

I checked the security camera this morning before they started working to see the progress made yesterday! Looks like three layers of logs have been installed! Below these layers, on the boarded section of the foundation, will be log siding to match. There will also be a large window next to the walkout. For now, it’s boarded up until they get the log siding and window installed. Need to keep it as dry as possible for now. It’s going to look incredible! 

The basement is now closed in, aside from the walk out door! They covered over the window but I bet they will cut that piece out when ready to install the window! The bottom portion will have log siding instead of full logs but they’ll blend together well! And the first of the logs are in place!  We met with the power company as well as the electrician today. There will be an additional telephone pole installed across the street, as well as one installed on our property. The one on our property will be pretty well hidden and closer to the road. Then they will run the lines underground from the telephone pole to the house. So there won’t see any power lines running to the house! Awesome!  We figured out with the electrician all of our outlets, switches and lighting both inside and out. At some point we will select and purchase all of our light fixtures and bring them to the house. At some point we also need to select and purchase kitchen and bathroom cabinets, counter tops, fau...

Great view from the first floor of our house! So fun to walk around! As I wondered around I envisioned the rooms will be, as well as the stairs that lead up to the loft area, and where the basement stairs will be. Also stood where the sliding door to the deck will be, as well as by the door to the farmer’s porch.  I also walked along the right side of the property and started clearing lots of dead branches to make it easier to walk down that side. When I got down to the second brook, I decided to go the rest of the way to the river! So fun to walk down there! I had the dogs with me and they went for a swim in the in the river! They had a ball! It took a while to get down to the river because I was cleaning up branches along the way to clear the trail. But it only took about 20 minutes to walk back up. I did about a Mike of walking!
