Almost ready for our move!
Movers are coming tomorrow (Monday) to move all of our stuff out of the house in Connecticut and will move everything into our home in New Hampshire on Tuesday! I’ll head up to New Hampshire after they’re done here in Connecticut so I am there for Tuesday for the movers. The kitchen appliances are also being delivered on Tuesday!
Still have more work to do today to finish packing! There are certain items the movers won’t take (e.g. plants, flammable substances like gas cans, WD-40). We will have to bring whatever they won’t take. Also, there are some items we need to keep here that we will need through the end of this week. I will have to come back Tuesday after the movers are done and kitchen appliances are delivered. I work from home and am approved to start working in New Hampshire next week on Monday. As a result, I need to work from home in Connecticut this week. I am off tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday. I also need to take my aunt to her 7:40 AM doctor’s appointment Wednesday morning. She lives in Connecticut. I’ll work for the rest of the day once I return, as well as Thursday and Friday. After that, I’ll be headed to New Hampshire for good! We close on the house the following Monday! We already signed the closing paperwork with our attorney last week so we don’t need to be here in Connecticut for the closing.
Latest photos of our home in Connecticut!
Large spare bedroom! My son made the huge eagle that’s on the bed. We will package this up very carefully and it won’t be going into the moving truck! This will be transported carefully by us! We refuse to risk damage to this beauty!
Leafs and protective covers for the kitchen table. My son and his wife are taking our kitchen set! These will soon be theirs!
Since I have to work from home in Connecticut this week, I set up everything I need for Wednesday through Friday this week to make it as easy as possible to pack up to take up to New Hampshire after I’m done working on Friday!

This will be coming with us and is empty, aside from a few items on top of it. My father-in-law made this a few years before he passed away in 2018 from glioblastoma, an incurable type of brain tumor with life expectancy of 12-18 months after diagnosis. He was diagnosed about three weeks before Senator John McCain was diagnosed with the same thing, and my father-in-law died about three weeks before McCain died. They both survived for about 14 months after being diagnosed. My father-in-law initially underwent brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as they could take. The problem with glioblastoma is that it has a “root system” that weaves into brain tissue, which cannot be removed. All they can remove is the mass itself but not the “root system.” He also underwent radiation therapy and oral chemotherapy. But all of these efforts only buy more time since it’s incurable. For some reason, glioblastomas cause blood clotting issues. At one point he was hospitalized for three weeks due to having multiple pulmonary emboli (blood clots in the lungs) and came close to requiring a ventilator. And as he neared the end of his death sentence, he had issues with blood clots in his legs too. I miss him so much! He was an amazing man: Very caring and loving and he treated me as if I was his own daughter! He was not only my husband’s Dad, but he was my Dad, too! So, since he made this, this is coming with us! After he passed away, we were helping his wife out (second wife and not my husband’s mother) and made a run to the dump for her. She wanted this taken to the dump, too! Bitch!! She doesn’t know but we never took this to the dump!

I will need to do laundry here in Connecticut this week so I set aside these pods to use. The large containers of liquid detergent, fabric softener, and all other laundry supplies are packed! The pods will be easier to take when we head up to New Hampshire! Keeping bare essentials only!
