Loft Dormer Under Construction!

Wow! Major progress in just one day with the dormer for the loft! So exciting! Hubby talked with our contractor last evening and the roof should be done within the next couple of weeks! And this morning our contractor told us that the power company was going to be installing the two telephone poles today! There will be one pole across the street, added to the main wires running along the street. The second pole will be added on our property near the road, off to the side away from the driveway where it won’t be very visible from the house. When the wiring is done, hopefully soon, it will be run from the new telephone pole across the street to our telephone pole, and will run underground from there to the house. We don’t have a date yet for the wiring to get power to the house but it won’t be long now! We will soon have power there! Can’t wait! I know our contractor will be absolutely thrilled to have power! He has had to use a propane generator for all of the work done to date! 

Also, I am pretty sure I heard correctly that our contractor told Hubby last evening that the stairs to the loft are installed, too! I’m sure having stairs there is helpful for him and his employees! 

Anyway, just one photo for now from the security camera. Hoping to be able to go up to New Hampshire this weekend, at which time the roof should be moving right along and I will be able to take lots of photos of all of the updates!   

This is what the dormer will look like when completed! When I look at this photo, I am so glad we won’t have any overhead wiring coming to the house! It will look so much nicer with underground wiring to the house!
